Mixed Feelings For Baxter

Jose Baxter will taste the experience of facing his former club Everton for the first time at the weekend when Oldham take on the Premier League side in the FA Cup.

Baxter, Oldham's top goalscorer this season, is hoping that he'll get a good reception from the Everton fans.

He certainly intents to show them his appreciation, as he told the official Everton website: 'You can never be 100 per cent sure what kind of reception you are going to receive from supporters of your former club but I left Goodison Park on good terms and I have been to a few of Everton's home games to show my support for the lads. I love returning there.

'I love the club. When I see Everton fans crammed into Boundary Park I will clap them, because they were so supportive of me. I am looking forward to seeing them this weekend.

'Loads of my mates from Bootle and around Merseyside will be in with the away fans. It makes me smile to think they will be there - and obviously it's another incentive to perform well.'

The 21-year-old, who is the youngest player to ever play a first-team game for The Toffees, departed Goodison Park for Boundary Park in the summer having been unable to secure himself the regular first-team football that he was looking for.
