'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Philliskirk Reiterates Oldham Stance

Tony Philliskirk has reiterated, telling The Manchester Evening News, that he's got no desire to become the next Oldham boss.

It looks as though Philliskirk will remain as caretaker manager for a while but he still has no desire to become the next boss fulltime.

He insists he's better suited as a coach and not a manager, with back-to-back League One wins not changing his mind about this: 'The results haven't changed the way I feel.

'My strengths are coaching and developing players; the wins have had no impact.'

Philliskirk has also been quick to share the praise around following the recent resurgence, adding: 'I am really uncomfortable with it because I feel like I am getting all the plaudits and that's not right.

'We are in it together and Paul Gerrard, Jon Guy and Anthony Gray have been brilliant and you mustn't underestimate the work they have done.

'I also can't speak highly enough of the players and they should get most of the credit.'
