Dayton Explains Oldham Move

New signing James Dayton has explained why he turned down the deal at Kilmarnock to join us.

Speaking to the Official Site in his first interview since signing for us, the midfielder said.

'Having worked with Lee, I know what he is about. He's ambitious and wants to take the club forward. I was impressed by his vision.'

Lee Johnson himself said he was pleased with the capture because he knew his former team mate had three or four other offers for his services.

'I know they would've paid more than we can which shows a desire by James to be here. While Jonson (Clarke-Harris) has great potential, James is more proven. I am delighted to have signed a player of his pedigree and talent.'
