'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Johnson Has High Hopes For Rodgers

Lee Johnson has said that Anton Rodgers is the kind of player who doesn't attract the credit he deserves on the pitch.

Speaking to the Official Site Johnson explained that he took a good look at Rodgers before deciding to offer him a 12 month contract, but he was impressed with his style of play and his hunger to succeed, and whilst he's not a flash player and he feels he'll often go unnoticed by fans, the work he does could be key to the squad.

'Anton is a player who possibly will go unnoticed to fans, but football people will appreciate what he does. He has a very good football brain and is a neat and tidy player. He's the sort of player who get a team ticking and is a pivot as he keeps the ball, tidies up and his passes set up forward players.'
