Burnley 5 - 0 Oldham

Burnley 5 - 0 Oldham

Oldham found themselves five nil down after only 35 minutes in our behind closed doors friendly against Burnley today.

Speaking to the Official Site following the match, Lee Johnson believes it was another good workout nontheless for the players, but obviously our horrifically slow start has again shown him areas we need to improve in.

'Burnley had a strong side while we had a young one. We showed for 35 minutes we cannot compete against a good Championship team. It was very good for our young players as they experienced the standard of being a player at a Championship club.'

What pleased Johnson most was the reaction of the players in the game, and he says that several of them stepped up to the plate well and have put themselves in his thoughts, although sadly '7 or 8 gave poor performances and have knocked themselves down a peg.'
