Johnson On Strong Preston Challenge

Johnson On Strong Preston Challenge

Manager Lee Johnson has said that the crowd can more than play their part when we face off against a strong Preston North End this weekend.

Johnson has just recently held a bit of a vibrant twitter debate about fan location at Boundary Park owing to the building work, and he says it was a worthwhile experience getting the thoughts of the supporters especially as he knows it can be as was a touchy subject, but now that that mini consultation has been done, it's strictly back to the football for a few days now.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of this weekends game, Johnson said that one of the motivators for the fan conversation was the fantastic support of the crowd again in the Tranmere match and he really feels they helped push the team on, so his thought was to see if there was anyway of boosting that and further improving the atmosphere.

'I was happy with the performance, the lads were on the front foot and I thought the forward two played well. We played the better football and and the better chances.'

Johnson went on to say that having Korey Smith back certainly had a positive impact on our performance and he made a big difference to us, and long may that continue now.

As for Preston specifically the gaffer went on to add that he knew it would be a very tough encounter for us, but he was looking forward to it as he believed it would be a 'fantastic' game.

'They will bring a lot of supporters which will make for a good atmosphere. The boys respond well and I love it when the place is rocking so it should be an exciting match. Our boys will no doubt rise to the challenge and put in a good performance.'
