Oldham 1-1 Melbourne

Oldham continued their pre season preparations earlier today with a one all draw against Melbourne City.

Oldham were hosting the Australian side as they have a mini tour of England and the first half played out with very few chances at all as it seems both teams were trying to suss each other out.

We were comfortable in position though for the most part and did look creative down the wings and defensively we were pretty solid with Paul Rachubka hardly threatened.

Our two best chances of the half fell to Jonson Clarke-Harris but he failed to test their keeper.

Going into the break at half time with the match score less, Melbourne started brighter and went into the lead after 49 minutes.

We again had chances to get back into the game but spurned them, and the changes made by the gaffer didn't really give us that extra impetus that we were looking for, however five minutes from time we got a break and Miguel Llera levelled the scores with a loopy effort.

Not a fantastic match really, but plenty of positives for manager Lee Johnson to have taken and whilst he'd have hoped for more sharpness up front, defensively he would've been pleased.

Oldham:

Rachubka, B Wilson, Kusunga (Lockwood 64), J Wilson (Llera 64), Brown, Dieng (Mellor 53), Jones, Kelly (Winchester 75), Forte (Bove 75), Dayton, Clarke-Harris (Gros 53).

Subs:

Coleman.

Melbourne:

Velphi, Archibald, Mooy, Ramsey, Murdocca, Brown, Evans, Hoffman, Retre, Wielaert, Poole.

Subs:

Redmayne, Chantler, Williams, Nalmar, Dugandzic, Kisnorbo.
