Ironing Out The Kinks

Lee Johnson, despite the morale boosting nature of the win, does feel that Oldham still showed against Huddersfield Town that they have enough room for improvement ahead of the new season.

He felt that we 'lacked tempo' in the three-one win, but also feels a long of this was psychological as players were worried too much about being injured but all in all when you beat a championship side you have to be happy! And he was.

A few things need to be 'ironed out' but overall he does feel that we're not too far off being completely ready for the opener with Colchester United.

Johnson told the official website: 'It's a new bunch so there are a few things I want to iron out but I think we are 90-95% there.

'Hopefully we can go into the Colchester game full of confidence and the players can be pleased with themselves after what has been a good pre-season.'
