Ripley In Team Of The Week (1/5/17)

Ripley In Team Of The Week (1/5/17)

Oldham Athletic are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by goalkeeper Connor Ripley in the scoreless draw with Wimbledon at the weekend at Kingsmeadow was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Ripley was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Ripley made sure his final game in an Oldham shirt was one to remember, keeping out AFC Wimbledon on multiple occasions in a goalless draw at Kingsmeadow. The Middlesbrough loanee`s clean sheet was his 18th in the league, and 19th in all competitions, equalling a Latics club record.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Ripley for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the point.

Full Team:

Connor Ripley (Oldham Athletic), Derrick Williams (Blackburn Rovers), Aden Flint (Bristol City), David Wheater (Bolton Wanderers), Christian Burgess (Portsmouth), Jake Taylor (Exeter City), Shane Ferguson (Millwall), Craig Gardner (Birmingham City), Curtis Weston (Barnet), Nicky Adams (Carlisle United), Harvey Barnes (MK Dons).

Manager - Nathan Jones (Luton Town).
