Preston North End 1-0 Oldham

All the early season optimism with Oldham seems to be fading away after another defeat on Saturday.

Oldham's winless start to the season continued at Deepdale on Saturday as Preston North End kept up their own unbeaten start with a 1-0 win.

Preston didn't take long to go ahead, a dangerous curling freekick into the box from Paul Gallagher couldn't be cleared with the loose ball falling to Jack King (4) and he drove home.

We didn't have too many first half chances, the best going to Jonson Clarke-Harris bit Preston 'keeper Jamie Jones didn't have to work too hard to keep this out.

George Elokobi isn't known for his goalscoring ability but the defender brought the ball out of defence to try a long-range effort but this went wide, and was about as close as we got with Lee Johnson not too unhappy with the performance but he knows a win is needed 'very soon'.
