Oldham 1-0 Bradford City
Oldham caused, what many would probably say, an upset in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday night at Boundary Park as we marched dramatically into round two.
A penalty shootout loomed large against Bradford City before a winner two-minutes from time secured us a 1-0 win.
Bradford had the first real chance of the night as Oliver McBurnie headed a corner from Alan Sheehan over with Jason Kennedy also having a chance for the visitors.
James Dayton and Amari Morgan-Smith both went close for us but the half ended goalless.
The post came to our rescue on the hour as Mark Yeates smashed an effort from 25-yards against the woodwork with pressure of our own eventually bringing a good save from Bradford 'keeper Jordan Pickford to deny Carl Winchester.
Winchester was half denied again in the dying minutes, as Pickford parried his effort, but having been on the pitch for only six-minutes max Jordan Bove (88) followed up to fire into the roof of the net as the teenagers first senior goal for us put us into the second round.
