Point From Dons Pleases Dickov

Oldham manager Paul Dickov was quite happy to return home from MK Dons with a point from the game with Latics last night.

Dickov`s team could have been blown away in the first half had the home side taken their chances in front of goal, but Latics held on well and improved vastly in the second half.

'I'm happy with a point. I thought possibly in the second half we could have won it, but we rode our luck a bit first half,' said Dickov.

'We gave them too much time on the ball and we showed them a bit too much respect, which isn't like us.

'Karl Robinson has got them playing some fantastic football, but we felt we could nullify that with the way we played. When we're good we're up at the ball and we don't give people a minute's peace - but we sat off them.

'We spoke at half-time and we sorted it out, but I said to them it shouldn't take us until half-time to sort things out.

'However, second half we were excellent. We nullified them completely and they struggled on the ball, and I thought going forward we were a threat every time.'

I should think that he is pleased, we were lucky in the first half and got away with murder.
