Slade: 'Oldham Goals Were Avoidable'

Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade was not impressed with the way his side let in three Oldham goals saying they were all avoidable.

The Os took the lead through teenager George Porter. But goals from Shefki Kuqi, Reuben Reid and substitute Matt Smith secured a 3-1 win for the visitors.

Slade said: 'We had a great start to the match and it was superb for George Porter who got a goal on his first start.

'Oldham are a strong physical side and so balls into the box and second balls began, towards the end of the first-half, to become a bit of a problem. But we got through to half-time which was important.

'But in the second period, I have to say that the three goals we've conceded were really disappointing. They were avoidable.

'Our back four are really experienced players but there was a bit of communication problems between a couple of players, they've both gone for the same ball and we have not narrowed off as a unit at the back and to be honest, one or two Oldham players could have scored the first goal.'
